Harry Salmi is a Finnish visual artist and painter. He lives and works in Lahti, Finland. Harry graduated as a BFA, Visual Artist, from Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Institute of Design and Fine Arts, year 2011. Harry paints with acrylic paint, marker pens and spray paint on canvas. His latest works of art are warm free-form line abstractions. Some pieces also have depicting elements in them. With his work he processes living in this moment, the stories and observations of his life and becoming aware of them, success and the energy of the painting process. Harry’s abstract style is elegant. He uses acrylics in six different ways. There are thin layers of acrylic spray and matte medium with paint diluter. Abstract lines with acrylic markers and spray. Big lines and surfaces with wide brushes and thick layers and lines straight from the tube. Typically his way of expression is improvised. It is surprising and spontaneous but not random. Painting makes Harry feel energetic. While at it he is lively, alert, bustling and joyful.
