But before she turned her talents to the fashion world Offord was creating deeply resonant paintings full of the symbols of hope, rebirth, and inner peace. Her meditative glimpses of a barren, sepia landscape are filled with the surface textures of the natural world. In style and purpose, Offord’s work is similar to the late-nineteenth century group of French artists known as Les Nabis.
