On the surface, it may be difficult to determine the relationship between the title "Heliotrope" and the subject matter of this abstract piece. The colors of brown, green, blue, and white give the impression of a photograph of the earth's land, ocean, and clouds from space. Then again, it may be an everyday object rendered unrecognizable through extreme close-up, or it may be a random swirl of colors.
