Sad Melody - Canvas Print

A young musician in a flowing crimson robe lifts a wooden recorder to play, his classical Baroque pose lit with the same rich chiaroscuro that made Caravaggio famous. But his face gives way to something stranger: an abstract cross of dripping color, cobalt, ochre, emerald, with a single realistic eye staring out. Sad Melody by José Luis Guerrero splits the difference between old-world portraiture and modern collage, landing somewhere moody and quietly funny. It's a striking choice for a study or reading nook, anywhere a little mystery wall art can hold its own.
