Born in Nagoya, Japan, Makiko traveled to the United States to study English and Graphic Design. For over 25 years she has worked as a freelance illustrator for greeting cards and children's publications. She loves nature and animals, and her inspiration comes from the innocent movement of animals and children. For her, animals are a good way of conveying a message and emotions. She loves been a part of this magical world.
