Jonathan Saiz, an American Artist (b. 1983), paints lush, fragmented perspectives of the world- taking flashes of inspiration from his travels and explorations around the world. His work is exhibited in the U.S. and in Europe, and internationally in private and corporate collections.
The prismatic forms of his paintings reflect curated glimpses of both contemporary culture and remnants of history: A multi-cultural and visual alchemy inspired by crystals and minerals. Each painting is a different visual conversation where everything and nothing is sacred, and juxtapositions between the formal and informal emerge, often in surprising ways.
This series began in his painting studio in Paris, France- inspired by the cultural complexity and sparkle of the city, and was completed in his studio in Mykonos Greece- inspired by the island's cubist architecture and the bright, luminous clarity of the sea and sky.
The series, "ALKAHEST", continues with new inspirations from his last year spent in Baja California Sur, Mexico- its epic geography and botanics beginning to influence the new direction of his collection.
