Mary Ann Vessey
Mary Ann Vessey's love affair with the land started as a child exploring fields and streams on her grandparents' farm in central Georgia. She and her husband settled in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley in the mid-'70s, drawn by the rolling pastures, blue mountains, and quiet beauty, and she's been painting it ever since. Self-taught and working primarily in oil, Vessey draws from memories of raising her children, the animals that filled their property, and the seasons that shaped their days.
