Chuck Styles: A Celebration of Black Culture

iCanvas is excited to offer prints by artist Chuck Styles, whose portfolio of art depicting the power, grace, and beauty of black culture has amassed critical acclaim in the art world.

Using a blend of traditional and digital mediums, the figures in Styles’ art are rich in detail, created with a range of vibrant colors that jump off the canvas. Historic icons like MLK and Malcolm X, athletes like Serena Williams and Lebron James, and stars like Sade and Spike Lee are just a few who Styles honors in his work. The timelessness of each icon is represented in purposeful juxtapositions between contemporary style and African folk wear.

Carrying a passion for art throughout his life, the Philadelphia-based artist worked as a professional barber for years. A calling to be an artistic voice for underrepresented communities brought him back to art. Other projects Chuck Styles has under his belt include book cover illustrations for Penguin Random House, a movie poster illustration for the 2019 movie Us, and exhibitions at Art Basel.
