Ancient Times, plate VII from 'De Figuris Veneris', 1900 - Canvas Print

Set in an imagined ancient Egypt, this classic illustration by Edouard-Henri Avril unfolds like a page from a historical manuscript, with figures rendered on a draped couch beneath a distant view of pyramids along a hazy river. Warm sandy tones, antique gold, and soft sage greens carry the scene's quiet intimacy and old-world atmosphere. A piece for those drawn to historical narrative art with a bold, unapologetic edge, Ancient Times wall art suits a curated study, reading room, or gallery wall where classic figural drawing feels right at home.
