Studies of the Illumination of the Moon, fol. 1r from Codex Leicester, 1508-1512 - Canvas Print

This page from the Codex Leicester shows Leonardo da Vinci's mirror script and geometric diagrams mapping the sun, moon, and earth across weathered parchment. Sepia ink notations and precise sketches of celestial spheres fill the sheet in warm tans and umber tones, revealing a mind working through astronomy and optics in real time. Studies of the Illumination of the Moon brings an intellectual, old-world presence to a library, study, or home office. As wall art, it turns a private moment of scientific curiosity into something worth studying on the wall.
