Ruffed Grouse, Tetrao Umbellus, from "The Birds of America" by John J. Audubon, pub. 1827-38 - Canvas Print

Three ruffed grouse gather on a woodland floor, their chestnut and russet plumage rendered with the careful precision of classic naturalist illustration. Mossy logs, autumn leaves, and clusters of dark berries frame the birds as one male fans its tail and lifts its dark neck ruff in display. Ruffed Grouse, Tetrao Umbellus brings the quiet detail of the forest indoors, a fitting piece of wall art for a study, den, or lodge-style living room where earthy tones and natural history feel right at home.
