About the Artist
Alice Straker
Alice Straker's vibrant oil paintings capture the joy and nostalgia of everyday food and drink, transforming beloved childhood dishes like chocolate eclairs into textured masterpieces. Using palette knives and brushes, Straker layers her canvases with thick, almost edible textures, bringing her subjects to life through color theory. Her journey into art began after a mental health challenge in 2016, making the connection between creativity and mental well-being a central theme in her work.
