Italy, Florence, Refectory of Convent of San Marco, Jesus and St John, detail from Last Supper, 1485 - Canvas Print

This intimate detail from the Last Supper shows Jesus resting his hand in blessing over Saint John, who leans peacefully asleep against the table, while a robed apostle in saffron yellow looks on. Delicate golden halos, rich terracotta and celestial blue, and a still life of glass carafes and cherries fill the scene with quiet devotion. Painted by Domenico Ghirlandaio, this Jesus and St John wall art brings a sense of calm reverence, suited for a study, reading nook, or wherever a moment of stillness is welcome.
