: Gustav Klimt was one of the main representatives of Art Nouveau (New Art) in Europe, and especially in his own country, Austria. Farm Garden with Sunflowers was painted between 1905 and 1906 and was painted, as most of his other Klimt landscapes, during his summer vacation in Attersee, Salzburg. Unlike other paintings where he represented truly landscapes, in this one he only painted flowers that gave the painting all its color. The sunflowers have to fight for the viewerĺs attention against other lively flowers, like poppies and daisies. There is not a defined composition in the painting, as the different flowers seem to be positioned on the canvas without any specific order, more like if they were dancing on it. Farm Garden with Sunflowers is a beautiful painting, very similar to other artworks where sunflowers are represented, especially to the one where we see the same vertical column of leaves, which in this painting is represented in the center.
